What is Invisalign?
Perks of Invisalign
- Discreet Appearance: The clear aligners are almost invisible, allowing you to straighten your teeth without drawing attention to your orthodontic treatment. This is especially appealing for adults and teens who prefer a more subtle solution.
- Removable Aligners: Unlike fixed braces, Invisalign aligners can be easily removed when eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. This means no dietary restrictions and easier oral hygiene maintenance.
- Comfortable Fit: Invisalign aligners are made from smooth, medical-grade plastic that is custom-fitted to your teeth, reducing the risk of irritation and discomfort often associated with metal brackets and wires.
- Fewer Dental Visits: With Invisalign, there’s no need for frequent adjustments, as is required with traditional braces. You’ll visit our clinic every 6-8 weeks to receive new aligners and monitor your progress.
- Predictable Results: Invisalign’s advanced 3D imaging technology allows us to create a precise treatment plan, so you can see a digital preview of how your teeth will move and what your final smile will look like before you even start treatment.
The Invisalign Process
1. Initial Consultation
Your Invisalign journey begins with a consultation where we evaluate your teeth and discuss your goals. We’ll take digital scans, X-rays, and photographs of your teeth to determine if Invisalign is the right option for you.
2. Custom Treatment Plan
Using the digital scans, we create a 3D model of your teeth and develop a personalised treatment plan. This plan outlines the exact movements of your teeth and provides an estimate of how long your treatment will take.
3. Aligner Fabrication
Your custom aligners are then fabricated using advanced 3D printing technology. Each set of aligners is designed to move your teeth incrementally. You’ll wear each set for about two weeks before moving on to the next in the series.
4. Wearing Your Aligners
You’ll need to wear your Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink, brush, and floss. The aligners are easy to clean and maintain, and they fit seamlessly into your daily routine.
5. Progress Checks
Every 6-8 weeks, you’ll visit our clinic for a progress check. During these visits, we’ll ensure your treatment is progressing as planned and provide you with your next sets of aligners.
6. Completion and Retention
Once you’ve completed your Invisalign treatment, you’ll be provided with a custom retainer to maintain your new smile. Wearing a retainer as instructed will prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position.
