Dr Jing Yong
BDS
Associate Dentist
GDC No: 290299
Dr Jing graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
in 2020, having previously completed an intercalated BSc in Innovative Medicine and
Innovation Technology in 2018. She went on to achieve Membership of the Faculty of Dental
Surgery (MFDS) with the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2022.
Jing has gained extensive experience across a range of dental specialties. She has worked
within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at Nottingham University Hospitals, as well
as in Community Dental Services, where she cared for both adults and children with complex
dental and additional healthcare needs. She has also worked in sedation services, providing
treatment for highly anxious patients using conscious sedation techniques.
Her clinical practice focuses primarily on paediatric dentistry, while also providing care for
adults, including those with additional needs. Jing is one of the lead clinicians delivering
dental treatment for children under general anaesthesia at Colchester Hospital.
Jing is passionate about making every dental visit as positive and comfortable as possible,
particularly for children and nervous patients. She believes that building trust from an early
age helps children develop confidence in the dental environment, encouraging positive
lifelong attitudes towards oral health. Her approach is gentle, patient-centred, and tailored to
each individual. She is a strong advocate of minimally invasive dentistry, prevention, and
early intervention to help patients maintain healthy smiles for life.
Outside of dentistry, Jing enjoys travelling and discovering new cultures and cuisines, with a
personal goal of visiting at least one new country each year. She also loves hiking and
exploring the outdoors and is always looking for recommendations for new day walks and
hiking trails across the UK.
