Types of Braces We Offer
Traditional Metal Braces
The most common and effective orthodontic treatment, traditional metal braces consist of high-grade stainless steel brackets and archwires that gently align your teeth over time. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more efficient than ever.
Clear Braces (Ceramic Brackets)
For a more aesthetic option, we offer clear braces with ceramic brackets. These tooth-coloured brackets are much less noticeable than metal braces while providing the same effectiveness. They are popular among adults and teens seeking a discreet treatment.
Invisalign/Clear Aligners
Invisalign/Clear Aligners uses a series of custom-made, clear trays that fit to your teeth for a nearly invisible way to straighten teeth. Removable aligners allow for easy eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, making them a flexible and appealing alternative to traditional braces.
The Orthodontic Treatment Process
Initial Consultation
Your journey starts with an initial consultation where we assess your dental needs, discuss treatment goals, and determine the best orthodontic solution.
Treatment Planning
We will develop a personalised treatment plan outlining the most suitable braces, estimated treatment duration, and expected outcomes based on your consultation. We will also take records which includes taking X-rays, photographs, and impressions or scans.
Fitting Your Braces
For metal or clear braces, we bond brackets to your teeth and attach archwires during a painless appointment that typically lasts about an hour. If you choose Invisalign/clear aligners, you’ll receive your first set of aligners with instructions on usage.
Regular Adjustments
You will visit our clinic for regular adjustments every 4-8 weeks. During these appointments, we monitor your progress, make necessary adjustments to your braces, or provide new Invisalign aligners to ensure effective treatment.
Completion and Retention
Once your teeth are in their desired position, your braces will be removed, or you’ll complete your final set of aligners. To maintain your new smile, you’ll need to wear a retainer—either removable or fixed behind your teeth—to prevent shifting. By offering a range of orthodontic options and a structured treatment process, IDS is committed to helping you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.
